Understanding your body fat percentage and its relation to uncovering your six pack.

Look, Abs don't even start getting defined for most people until you are at less than 10% body fat for men and 15% body fat for women. So the goal becomes to reduce your body fat percentage to that level or better.

Listen, I spent years trying to figure out the best way to reduce my bodyfat percentage to less than 10%. I started out with poor results and then later learned how to achieve great results only to see them disappear when I went back to my old eating habits. There is nothing more frustrating then to bust your ass to achieve six pack abs and then see them go away after a month or two. For most people who ever do achieve their goal of developing six pack abs, the experience is like taking a vacation to an exotic island. A couple of months after they've gone home all they have is some photos and a memory. If you want to achieve results that last you need to learn how to control your cravings.

How do you control your cravings? Some of the links on this page will help in that regard. The supplement Hoodia has become known as an appetite suppresant, but I can't say for sure as I don't take any supplements and my personal belief is that they are all worthless, but it's good to experiment and see what works for you. Personally the easiest way I have found to control cravings is to drink a gallon of water per day. Yes that's right drink one gallon of water per day. But don't be an idiot and try and drink an entire gallon at one time as that can kill you. Drink a gallon over the course of an entire day. You will find as I have that by drinking a gallon of water each and every day you will be less hungry. In addition to that you need to learn how to reprogram your mind so that you automatically take the daily actions necessary to stay on track and make consistent progress and most importantly to maintain your physique once you have reached your goal. How do you reprgram your mind? There are several ways. One is visualization.

You must be at a single digit body fat percentage if you want to have 6 pack abs and a ripped lean body.

To find out how may pounds of fat you have to lose to arrive at that body fat percentage requires some calculations. But before you whip out your calculator you'll need to know what your current body fat percentage is.

Until you know what your current body fat percentage is you won't be able to determine how many pounds of fat you need to lose to achieve a six pack. This is one of the most important steps in the process so if you want to succeed don't skip this step! To do this you can have it measured by a personal trainer or your health care provider. You can also purchase a body composition monitor such as those made by Tanita. A Tanita body composition monitor is one of the best investments you can make if you are serious about developing six pack abs. It will help you to determine if the weight you are losing is actually fat or if you are making mistakes and losing muscle instead. You can order a Tanita body composition monitor from Amazon.com.
