One thing I think I can tell you right at the get-go is that no doctor in his or her right mind is going to advise you to eat nothing but lettuce and drink lemon-water for a week. Of course I’m exaggerating what some of the fads call for. But, for one thing, not only is a fad and extreme deprivation diet unhealthy (duh), but even if you did lose weight, you’d put it back on once you resumed eating normally.
