The authors are accomplished registered nurses as well as caregiver educators and advocates. Ms. Imke contributes a wealth of specialized knowledge of, and experience with, Parkinson disease. "The Comfort of Home for Parkinson Disease" brings comfort and peace of mind to families of people with Parkinson disease. The authors have successfully compiled a complete collection of the latest Parkinson disease-specific information, resources, caregiving options, record-keeping templates, home safety tips and illustrations, and much more. The material is presented with clarity and compassion. Two imporant and fundamental premises permeate the book: 1) that Parkinson disease affects not only the patient, but the caregiver, and the entire family system; and 2) that PD demands a holistic, team approach to care. This book not only validates, but also elevates, the role of the family caregiver as someone who is intimately involved in, and knowledgable about, the disease, and who is an integral member of the care team. The book goes the extra mile (actually, miles) to help any family caregiver navigate the systems of health care, home care, and Parkinson disease. I heartily give this book 5 stars.

Customer Review: While I did learn several things about ergonomics, I finally put the book down when I got tired of the preaching. Many of the author's topics were not on subject and, instead, were rantings about the time we spend watching television or other pet peeves of the authors. It got really old. I was looking forward to learning how to design my home. I didn't need the nagging. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Customer Review: I purchased this book as a reference to build a sauna. Containing 37 heavily illustrated pages on saunas alone, I have found this to be a very helpful source for a novice builder. The book contains many detailed diagrams to help with design, foundation work, window and door construction, and roofing. For those planning spas, hot tubs, or home gyms, the graphics are equally detailed. Dozens of photographs show spas and gyms in a variety of settings and styles. Other user-friendly features of the book are a glossary, index, and and lumber conversion chart. In addition, the book has templates of exercise equipment that you can copy to plan your home gym.
