Samantha Lockwood is the daughter of veteran actors. Her father, Gary Lockwood, best known for starring in countless television shows and films, including the timeless iconic Stanley Kubrick directed 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), Star Trek "Where No Man Has Gone Before", "Firecreek" and the "Luitenent". She is a Renaissance woman, an actress, a fine artist and a yogini. Since she was 15 she's studied acting with several prominent acting coaches, such as Aaron Speiser, and Janet Alhanti, but claims her parents have been her best teachers. A natural beauty, Lockwood has proven to be a particular favorite with the media especially in her hometown of La Quinta and the desert cities. She has also been featured in the internationally popular magazine Maxim and noted as "one of the most promising young actresses to keep an eye on" from her featured part in Lords of Dogtown. Summer 07 she was highlighted on the cover of Ms. Fitness Magazine for her acting, yoga skills and her Fleurings invention, earring designed to hold live flowers. Fleurings Jewelry are dedicated to and inspired by Samantha's grandmother Betty Schelb who encouraged her to wear and live flowers. A dedicated student of Bikram Yoga, Lockwood began studying at age four. At seventeen she was certified as the youngest Bikram yoga teacher by her life long instructor, Bikram Choudhury founder of Bikram Yoga. Choudhury was also the teacher for both of Samantha's parents who both took Bikram Yoga to stay fit for their acting careers. In Samantha's training summer of 1999 she won a medal for Best in Posture, and later went on to compete in the International Yoga Competition. She is emerging as an accomplished internationally respected artist whose paintings have been exhibited in prestige galleries and are sold to buyers worldwide. Samantha's art donations yield profits to help support a variety of charitable organizations, including Desert Samaritans and the Cancer Society. Customer Review: This book is great. This is the book to get if you are not really sure about what to do in a gym or at home. I also suggest this book to any new trainers that are looking for good workouts to use with clients as you learn program design. It's also great for more experienced trainers to use on those days when you are drawing a blank on what to do or you need to give a client a workout to do on their own for one reason or another.

I have been walking for awhile, i guess since i was about 7 months. once i started i just couldnt stop. I was walking everywhere around the playground, the backyard, i would even do multiple laps around the couch! im not gonna lie, i was pretty good. after decades of walking however, i was still having the same problems with form and technique. i assumed i could work these out on my own eventualy, but boy was i wrong. for example, i would routinly fall when attempting to pass uneven surfaces, i could not figure out why until i read this book. turns out, my form was fudamentaly flawed. Instead of simply steping onto the higher surface, i would get on my left leg and left arm only,then use my bodyweight to heave myself on the surface of higher elevation. living in manhatten, this made traveling around the city nearly impossible. one night i actually was locked into a subway station, beacause of my inability to scale the tall 20ft staircase. i yelled for the attendant, but i dont think he heard me, he appeared to be laughing very hard at something, maybe a joke a friend of his told earlier in the day. anyways, I was quickly tackling curbs, stairs...yes...stairs, i was even scaling the step used in aerobic classes!! I cant count the ways this book has changed my life

Customer Review: Lots of information, very thought provoking regarding the dangers of too much sugar hitting your system at one time, spiking your insulin production, which can do a lot of damage. Diabetes runs in my family, so the topic of the book is of major interest to me. Some of the recommendations are contradictory, though, as if the book was written by several authors who didn't quite agree on the best course of action. In spite of this, in general, the book has had a significant impact on my own lifestyle - primarily in diet, since I had been following a healthy exercise routine prior to buying the book. Well worth reading!
