Customer Review: This book provided alot of helpful insight from the mind of an individual who has already achieved success in the field I want to pursue myself. This is a good book to read if you're curious to see a realistic day-in-the-life look at the entrepreneurial track of fitness training. It also gives good tips for those that wish to work in established gyms as well; however, the entrepreneurial info is what reeled me in.

Customer Review: I have just finished the nail tech course in my state using this book. Sadly, for being the standard textbook in the industry, the book is riddled with typos and mistakes.
They commonly say things like "course abrasive" instead of "coarse" and the review questions leave a lot to be desired. By finding an older edition I learned that some terminology has changed so you learn one term in a section, but the old term is used in the review questions. Good luck answering the questions when you don't understand what they are talking about!
Worse, your instructor will use the tests provided and I have had to have my grades adjusted repeatedly due to errors on the tests. More often than not, you will have questions that have nothing to do with what you have learned only to find they are questions from the Cosmetology text and not the Nail Tech book.
Overall, hope for a good instructor who catches these errors and will adjust the curriculum accordingly or you may have problems later.

Customer Review: If you are thinking of becoming a personal trainer or are just starting your personal training career, this book is a definite read!! The book guides you through choosing the type of trainer you want to be, where you want to work, marketing ideas, insurance, etc. Really, "everything" is covered! Even if you are already a trainer, I would recommend this book as it is packed with information that is helpful whether you are new or not. A well organized and written book.

Customer Review: I am reading this now. As a buddhist, it's an excellent book with practical advice for being mindful and skillful in a competive workplace. Admitedly, I had always considered work as a necessary evil to pay the bills and the competitive rat-race as a hinderance to my practice. His approach to work-life is completely the opposite, it's mindful acceptance and openness to the up and downs. As I read, it dawns on me that that's exactly as it should be.

Customer Review: I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is, or wants to support someone who is, living through breast cancer.
I bought this book the day after I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I wanted a book that was the equivalent of the "What to Expect" books written for expectant and new parents. This book completely fit the bill. Dr. Kaelin's explanations of the science and lingo surrounding breast cancer and treatments are thorough and accessible. She also provides information about how you'll feel during and after surgery and treatment, what you'll need to have on hand to support your healing, and how to manage the side effects of treatment.
One of my favorite things about the book is that information regarding lumpectomy and mastectomy is separated, as is information regarding radiation therapy and chemotherapy. I really appreciated this, as I was having difficulty reading the websites that covered all this information all together--it was too scary. Having this information separated made it possible for me to read only what applies to my own situation, but I also know that I have the other information if I should need it.
The other great thing about this book is that the language is very carefully chosen to avoid references to struggling and fighting, but focuses instead on coping and living as well as you can during and after surgery and treatment. This positive approach is calming and reassuring to me.

So, i am looking for a good text that is easy to follow and shows step by step , with written as well as pictures. Customer Review: very good book writes in detail the story about natural color shades and how bleaching takes the color down to red and then blonde all according to the time you leave it in. I did many experiments on myself, and being an at home colorist; was pleased with the results. With my basic knowledge re coloring and this book, I got a better idea what I was acutally doing to the hair. thanks.
