The Miami Mediterranean Diet: Lose Weight and Lower Your Risk of Heart Diseas... by Michael Ozner Amazon Price: $16.47
Customer Review: Written by an experienced Miami cardiologist, the Miami Mediterranean Diet is an excellent introduction to the lifestyle and recipes of the Mediterranean diet, as filtered through an American lens, which, nevertheless, retains all of the heart-healthy benefits of the original Mediterranean diet.
Far from being just another fad diet, The Mediteranean diet is the only diet clinically proven, for more than four decades now, to reduce the incidence of heart disease, cancer and stroke, and possibly neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Michael Ozner makes the case for moving away from the pro-inflammatory American diet towards the anti-inflammatory Mediterranean diet in order to prevent atherosclerosis, heart disease and other inflammation-related ailments that are all-too common in the West.
The Miami Mediterranean diet features plenty of low-fat, high-fiber, olive-oil-rich, flavor-packed recipes made with fresh fruits and vegetables, fatty fish, lean dairy, nuts, legumes and whole grains. It will help you lose weight and change your lifestyle for the better, for once and for all. This is a diet that anyone can benefit from, whether you are seeking to lose weight, prevent diabetes, reduce allergy or arthritis symptoms, reverse heart disease, or avoid IBS symptoms. Highly recommended.

Mediterranean Diet Cookbook: A Delicious Alternative for Lifelong Health by Nancy Harmon Jenkins Amazon Price: $21.45
Customer Review: Recipes are oke, but I already have a lot of those. I wanted to learn exactly what is the mediterranean diet and what exactly are the benefits. I expected more background and scientific information.
If you want to know more about foodscience, you better read Good calories, bad calories, written by Gary Taubes.
The MediterrAsian Way: A Cookbook and Guide to Health, Weight Loss, and Longe... by Ric Watson, Trudy Thelander Amazon Price: $18.15
Customer Review: The book is beautiful from the very cover and is not just a collection of recipes. The first part explains the Mediterrasian philosophy, backed up with medical facts and history, and an actual plan to follow a Mediterrasian way of life for 14 days. (As someone currently living in Italy, I can say living like this for far more than 14 days is anything but a pain!) The second part is a catalog of delicious recipes showcased with beautiful pictures that, by a historical coincidence, happen to be great for your health.
The Mediterranean Heart Diet: How It Works and How to Reap the Health Benefit... by Helen V. Fisher, Cynthia Thomson, Helen V. Fisher, Ph.D, R.D. Cynthia Thomson Amazon Price: $12.89
Customer Review: This is an absolutley "terrible" book. It first tells you what the Mediterranean Diet was many years and and how it is so helpful - THEN it tells you how to make bread with WHITE ALL-PURPOSE BREAD FLOUR. WHAT A STUPID BOOK. Then it goes on to tell you how to update the diet with new technology learned over the last century. THAT IS NOT WHAT THE AUTHOR SHOULD BE DOING = THEY SHOULD BE TELLING YOU WHAT THE DIET "WAS" NOT WHAT THE AUTHOR THINKS IT SHOULD BE. And as an added "insult" they tell you to stop smoking. Do you think the Mediterranean"s "Smoked". Of course, and they were living longer than anybody on earth. What arrogance.
After just one week and I see results: I have lost some weight and I do not feel deprived at all. This diet should be used by everyone who is interested in not only their weight management but also those are interested in living a healthy lifestyle where processed food is a thing of the past. The food can be a bit pricey but if you use your common sense substitutes are easily found.
Mediterranean Light: Delicious Recipes from the World's Healthiest Cuisine by Martha R. Shulman Amazon Price: $14.80
Customer Review: I have small children with bland Minnesota cuisine tastes. I have found some recepies that our whole family would eat. I personally enjoy the cook book but struggle finding many choices for all of us. I find I can modify some of the recepies to make it work for all of us.
My New Mediterranean Cookbook: Eat Better, Live Longer by Following the Medit... by Jeannette Seaver Amazon Price: $17.82
Customer Review: The cook book is a middle of the road cook book with no real insights to the Mediterranean Heart diet. In fact, a good basic Italian, Middle Eastern, or Greek cook book would be better - like the Essentials of Italian Cooking and The Eastern Mediterranean CookBook.
