Stick to the exercise program (which will challenge you), use the daily food list as a "guide" (can be expensive to buy and cook everything listed, however there are some great recipes) and this book will do wonders for you. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Compare the information in this to all the other books that are out there and this will come out on top everytime. Still, just buying the book isn't enough, you still have to get out there and do the work. And yes, alot of the exercises are using gym equipment, however these can be modified quite easily to be done at home. No treadmill for sprints? Jump rope for 3 minutes instead. People saying "I don't have access to a gym so it's no good" are just making excuses. IF you really want results, this book will get you there.

I've never been super fat but I don't remember seeing my stomach muscles since the 6th grade. I followed this book's principles pretty well. It is now May 12th and I weigh 227. More importantly, I feel better. This is not a gimmick diet. I'm not a huge fan of the title because it sounds superficial and the word diet doesn't do it justice. A lot of people lose weight but keep the same shape. This plan really helps you lose belly fat and it is practical enough that you can do it for life. I recommend this to everyone. I'm still a couple months away from seeing my abs but I'm still motivated.

But Gittelman's recommendations are sound, if a bit strict. Other books I have read on nutrition back her up. When I practice the FFP, I feel much healthier and sleep better. The weight loss is not as quick as I had hoped, but I always feel as if I am doing something good for my body. She has great suggestions, like using flaxseed oil and omega-3 enriched eggs. I even like her regime of diluted, unsweetened cranberry juice and lemon water in the morning. But I cheat with a salt substitute and decaffeinated herbal tea. So I don't use her "stuff" religiously, but her basic guidelines are sound.
