Carnivores. Meat-eaters have intestines about three to five times the length of their bodies, measuring from the mouth to the rectum. In addition, their stomachs are sphere-shaped. Herbivores. The intestines of herbivores are up to 28 times the length of their body and their stomachs are more extended and have multiple sections.

Frugivores. The intestines of the frugivorous animals are 10 to 12 times the length of their body. Their stomachs are somewhat broader than those of the carnivores and have a continuation into the duodenum serving the purpose of a second stomach.

Again, the frugivore digestive tract is the one found in humans—further evidence our bodies developed to live off a diet of fruits and vegetables.

Finally, let’s consider these animals’ reactions to food:

Carnivores. When the meat-eater finds its prey, its eyes sparkle with anticipation. It will then boldly seize its prey and kill it, showing absolutely no mercy. It may even start to eat larger animals before they are dead and while they are still uttering sounds of agony.

Herbivores. These animals respond very differently. Sprinkle even a little blood on their food and the animals won’t have anything to do with it. Their senses of smell and sight lead them to choose grass and leaves for food.

Frugivores. The same goes for frugivores. Their senses always direct them to fruits and vegetables.

Most people cannot bear the view, sounds, and odors of a slaughterhouse. I don’t know about you, but personally I am disgusted by the sight of butchered meat and all of the images and aromas of factory animal farming and meat processing. On the other hand we all find the fragrance of fruits and vegetables attractive, and our mouths water even at the sight of them.
