Chapter Nine: Food Magnetism

It should come as no surprise that fresh fruits and vegetables top the list of foods that magnetize the body towards health and vitality. In recent years there has been a big push to eat organic. If you are eating fruits and vegetables and not washing them correctly you may also be consuming the residue of pesticides and slowly poisoning your system. However, eating organic in large quantities can be cost prohibitive as organic fruits and vegetables tend to be more expensive. Moreover, the organic varieties are often smaller. So you end up paying more for less.

Furthermore, what passes for “organic” is questionable to me. Who really knows what goes on at faraway farms in other countries? And many of the reasons given for buying organic are ridiculous when given serious thought. Take, for example, the argument that organic farming saves energy. While it may be true that the natural fertilizers used in organic farming don’t require the energy expenditure as synthetic fertilizers, what about all the fossil fuel energy it takes to transport the produce halfway around the world from countries like Chile? Or all the way across the country if you live on the east coast, since Californians grow most U.S. organic food? Not to mention that it takes more land to grow the same amount of organic food, which means more environmental impact.

I’m not by any means trying to bash the ideal of organically grown foods. I’m all for food raised at local farms and without harmful chemicals and pesticides. I just think that for the average person organic food can be far too expensive. Unless you are making a serious effort to eat only foods with a strong, invigorating magnetism, it’s not very important. Does it really matter that your ice cream is organic? And what about those organic cookies and other baked goodies? And will it really matter that the vegetables are
