We humans are creatures of habit. Whether our habits are good or bad, they have a powerful magnetic effect on our lives, attracting to us the effects of the causes we have set in motion. Simply put, our lives and our health are the result of our habits. If you develop smoking habit, that habit will destroy your health. Smoking one cigarette or even a pack of cigarettes, while damaging, probably won’t kill you. But the habit of smoking likely will. Working out once at the gym will have absolutely no effect on your health. As a matter of fact, it will probably leave you aching for a week. But the habit of exercising properly at the gym several times a week will have a tremendous effect on your health and many different areas of your life. Doing deep breathing exercises once or twice will not bestow any material benefit on your life. But the habit of breathing this way every time you have a food craving will encourage a very high level of self-control, which will let you lose as much weight as you want and keep it off for life.
In addition to exercising and measured breathing, the following seven simple habits will magnetize your body and mind, and attract a destiny of health and happiness to you.
Habit #1 — Correct Posture
How would you like to lose 15 to 20 pounds instantly? Try this in front of a mirror: Stand up straight with your shoulders back and your stomach pulled in. Hold your head straight and upright, as if suspended by an imaginary string. Keep your chin pulled in slightly. Get the picture? Nothing will improve your appearance faster than the correct posture.
We all remember our mothers telling us to sit up straight and not slouch. Mom was right. Good posture is not just esthetically pleasing.
