Chapter Four: Energization Exercises
To benefit most from the wonders of food magnetism, we must make the physical body receptive. Energization exercises are the third step in that process. They are a form of isometrics and bestow all the same benefits, including:
More lean muscle mass. Energization exercises stimulate the growth of new lean muscle. If you perform them every day while on a weight-loss diet, you will help your body maintain its muscle mass.
Quicker metabolism. The more muscle you have, the faster your body burns calories and the faster your metabolism becomes. That’s because lean muscle tissue is metabolically active. It requires more calories to sustain it, about 40 per pound, compared to just three for fat.
Increased weight loss. Since it consumes more calories, a fast metabolism slims you down. In theory, if you add just five pounds of muscle, you can burn away 20-25 pounds of fat a year doing nothing!
Improved cholesterol balance. Exercise produces more HDL (good cholesterol) while reducing the LDL (bad cholesterol). Among other things, a better cholesterol ratio reduces your chance of developing heart disease.
Greater neurological strength. Energization exercises teach your body to recruit more muscle fiber for each movement. Thus your strength grows not just because you have more muscle, but because you use your muscles more efficiently
You can do energization exercises anywhere. They require no special equipment, gym membership, or large commitment of time. You can perform them in your car while stuck in traffic, in the shower, or even while reading this book.
