What’s on the outside is merely a manifestation of what’s on the inside. Your internal self-image is the blueprint from which your physical body takes shape. When your internal self-image is fat, you’ll repeatedly act to become fat. You will eat too much of the wrong foods, you won’t move enough, you will do all the right things to achieve the wrong result. At the same time, when your internal self-image is lean, muscular, and vibrant, you will automatically act to match yourself to it. You will exercise more and think twice about what you put in your mouth.

Your internal self-image is the result of a lifetime of looking in the mirror and listening to the comments of those around you. Years have gone into creating this image. Thankfully, you can change it quickly.

The solution involves daily visualization. Simply take the time each day, preferably twice a day, to visualize your perfect body as if you already had it right now. See clearly in your mind’s eye how you want your body to look, while at the same time feeling the positive emotions possessing that body would make you feel.

Do you know what will happen when people begin to notice that you are transforming your body from overweight and unhealthy to lean, muscular, and vibrant? Compliments will happen. People will come up to you and tell you how good you look. They will ask you what you’re doing and how you are doing it. Their response is a key ingredient to add to your visualization. In your mind’s eye, see yourself looking good and see your friends and family praising you. See yourself smile. See yourself respond with a “Why, thank you!”
